Securing and Accessing Your Account

You have full control over your ELLA account and how you sign in. Whether you’re using a personal login, a passkey, or your organization’s SSO, everything is managed through your Account Center, powered by Clerk.

We offer several ways to log in to your account, including email links, passkeys, and Single Sign-On (when enabled by your organization).

Signing Up for an Account

When signing up for an account, you'll need to provide and verify your email address. Once you've logged in and created an account, you'll be able to add additional authentication methods to your account.

Accessing Your Account Settings

You can access your account settings from the sidebar:

  1. Open the user menu in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
  2. Select Account settings.

This opens our Account Center (hosted by Clerk), where you can:

  • Update your name and email address
  • Manage your authentication methods
  • View connected sessions
  • Sign out from all devices

Sign-In Options

In addition to email and SSO (when enabled by your organization), ELLA supports adding a passkey to your account as an additional layer of security. You can manage these options at any time in the Account Center.

By default, you will log in using an emailed login link. When you enter your email on the login screen, ELLA sends a secure login link to your inbox. Clicking that link signs you in instantly, so there is no password to remember or manage. This is also more secure than using a password, as it requires a separate email to be sent to a device you have access to.

2. Passkeys

Passkeys allow you to sign in using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device’s built-in security instead of passwords. They’re faster, more secure, and work across devices that share your iCloud Keychain or other credential manager.

To enable passkeys:

  1. Go to Account settings → Security
  2. Select "Add passkey"
  3. Follow your device’s prompts to register

3. Single Sign-On (SSO)

If your organization has enabled SSO (via Microsoft, Google, or another identity provider), you’ll see an SSO option on the ELLA sign-in screen.

  • Use your organization credentials to log in.
  • If SSO is enforced for your org, you must use that method to access ELLA.
  • All SSO connections are managed by your organization’s admin.

Managing Sessions

From your Account settings → Active sessions, you can:

  • See which devices are currently signed in
  • Revoke sessions remotely if you lose a device
  • Sign out of all devices for extra peace of mind

Tips for Keeping Your Account Secure

  • Always keep your browser and operating system updated.
  • Use a passkey whenever possible — it’s stronger than a password or email link.
  • Always remember to sign out from shared or public devices.
  • If your organization uses SSO, contact your administrator if you lose access to your primary login.

Troubleshooting Access

If you can’t log in:

  • Check that you’re using the same email or SSO provider tied to your ELLA account.
  • Look for your login link email in your inbox or spam folder.
  • If your organization uses SSO, confirm that your account is active in their system.
